This piece was a huge challenge for me, first, I haven't done wings since 2012. I've strategically
avoided them due to believing I couldn't do them. I mean.. in hindsight, I could have done them.
But wings, cloaks, jewellery, complex markings, all things that aren't particularly my "style".
I've always been an artist that's done a more natural look, so this was definitely a step outside the
ol' comfort zone. But I'm super glad that I did it! I wish it hadn't taken as long though, that's definitely
something I struggle with. If a piece goes over 3 weeks, I tend to lose interest, which makes eveything
more difficult. But I had to handpaint a lot of details, so I guess it was to be expected.
The one thing I do love about this image and I'm so pleased with is the background! I have always
wanted to put a background together from lots of different images and it was great to compile an
entirely new scene, definitely something I'd aspire to do again.
The character is Isopia who is played on Helovia by oddmountain.
